Lisa Haffenden (FMAAT)

Founder With over 20 years of experience in local accountancy practices, Lisa launched Mounts Bay Accountants in 2021 to offer a more personal, relaxed approach to finance. A Fellow Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians, she combines deep technical knowledge with a down-to-earth attitude. When she’s not at her desk, you’ll find her at the gym. where she’s earned the nickname “6-Pack Back”, or planning her next travel adventure.

Georgia Haffenden – Finance & Marketing

Lisa’s daughter, Georgia, joined the family business after graduating with First Class Honors in Business Finance, and Marketing. Working remotely from Brighton, she brings a modern, strategic edge to the firm. When she isn’t managing figures, Georgia enjoys the finer things in life, from travel and fine dining to the patient art of crocheting.

Freddie Neaum– Trainee Accountant

Freddie joined us for work experience and liked it so much he never left. With A-Levels in Psychology, Business, and Economics under his belt, he begins his formal AAT journey this September. A sports enthusiast with a keen interest in geography and world travel, Freddie is dedicated to growing his career within the firm.

Beth Power – Accounts Assistant

Beth joined us with a strong background in finance, having previously managed her own business ventures. A new mum to a baby boy, Beth is incredibly family-oriented and balances her professional precision with a busy home life and her beloved dog.

Maria Watson – Accountant

Originally from Lancashire, Maria moved to Newlyn 17 years ago and has been an integral part of the local community ever since. She has worked in accountancy practice since 1997 and brings a wealth of experience to the team. Whether she’s volunteering for the Newlyn Harbour Lights or catching up with local fishermen at the pub, Maria is now Newlyn through and through. She is a proud cat lover and a friendly, familiar face to many of our clients.

The Office Companions

Freddie the Dog – Head of Greetings

The first to (loudly) announce your arrival, Freddie is our self-appointed security. He has a long-standing “beef” with the postman and is a professional beggar. Despite his persistent charms, he is strictly not allowed human snacks due to his diabetes – no matter how much he tries to convince you otherwise.

Vinnie the Tortoise – Office Speedster

Don’t let the species fool you; Vinnie is surprisingly fast. He enjoys the thrill of hiding under office chairs, occasionally giving the team a minor heart-attack as we check our feet. He’s a quiet but constant presence in our Newlyn home office.
